The three search facilities are Search engine, Meta search engine,& Subject directory.

For Search engine I use : Google.com (579,000 hits)
For Meta search engine : MetaCrawler.com (40 hits)
For Subject directory : Yahoo.com (327 hits)
I used the phrase is "(Impact OR Influence) AND (Terrorism OR “Terror Campaign”) AND (World OR Globe) AND (Economy)", throughout using the three search facilities.

Google.com --> Search engines are commonly used in finding information on the Internet and it uses software that automatically generates a database of websites and pages.

MetaCrawler.com --> A search engine that sends user requests to several other search engines and/or databases and aggregates the results into a single list or displays them according to their source.

Yahoo.com --> Subject directories are created and maintained by human editors, not electronic spiders or robots. Directories tend to be smaller than search engine databases.

Personally, I prefer on using Google search engine. It not just got a lot of hits but also high in relevance. Whereas if it is Yahoo search directory, there is no relevant website for me to look for my research topic.
